NEW YORK – Metro-North Railroad will substitute bus service for
weekday, off-peak trains between Port Jervis and Harriman on the Port
Jervis Line beginning September 11 and continuing for several weeks.

That will pave the way for the railroad to perform infrastructure improvements
on that section of the line.

During that time period, Metro-North crews will perform structural repairs
at the Moodna and Woodbury Viaducts, as well as remove the defunct overhead
bridge at Day Road in Campbell Hall so the town can establish formal cul-de-sacs
on either end.

Crews will also undertake a rock slope remediation project, inspecting
and reinforcing the rock slopes adjacent to the tracks between Port Jervis
and Harriman to ensure that they are free of any loose rocks and brush
that could fall on the tracks and cause delays.

Elsewhere along the line, crews will install ties, weld tracks and paint
stations.
