Husband of woman killed in Florida arrested in Kingston

KINGSTON – Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Ormond Beach, Florida man, described as a person of interest in the suspicious death of his wife.  Donald Place, 72, of Ormand Beach, FL, was sought by local police in that community after the death of Debra Jean Place, 62, at the Ridgecrest Mobile Home Park in Ormond Beach.
Police there notified the sheriff’s office that Donald Place might be in the Kingston area. On August 26 at about 7:30 p.m., deputies located him in a vehicle in the Kingston Plaza. He was arrested in Kingston and released to the custody of Colonie Police.
Investigation revealed Place was also wanted by Town of Colonie Police
on a warrant for felony grand larceny.
Place was being held in the Albany County Jail pending further proceedings in the grand larceny case and the results of further investigation by Florida authorities.
