This 217-kilowatt photovoltaic array and battery system is the largest project of its kind
on the east coast.  It goes on line in October.

NEW PALTZ – There’s been no rest for the Facilities Management team overseeing campus construction projects at SUNY New Paltz this year, even after the completion of the new Science Hall.
“It’s been a very busy year on the construction front,” said John Shupe, assistant vice president for Facilities Management. “I want to thank the many contractors and consultants we’ve worked with, the great team at the State University Construction Fund, the Dormitory Authority and, most importantly, our incredible Facilities Management staff. They’ve done an exemplary job making sure that the campus continues to meet the needs of our students and faculty, while also serving as a model of energy efficiency and safety that other campuses are following.”
There are currently more than 20 active construction projects happening on campus, with at least that many more in early design phases.
Among them:

Engineering Innovation Hub, Construction will begin this fall.
Speech-Language and Hearing Center upgrade
A total gut renovation of Bevier Hall is approaching completion as summer winds down
Haggerty Administration Building plaza enhancements
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) relocation
Fine Arts Building roof replacement
