One dead in Columbia County crash

LIVINGSTON – A passenger in a car that was involved in a three-car crash at the intersection of Route 9 and Columbia County Route 31 at 6:50 on Wednesday morning was killed.
Preliminary investigation indicates a Chevrolet was eastbound on CR31 and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Route 9. The car collided with a Hyundai traveling north on Route 9.
The Chevy overturned and struck a car parked at a gas station.  A passenger in the Chevy, a 40-year-old Hudson resident, was ejected and died at the scene.  Police have not released his name.
The Hyundai driver and passenger were both transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. State Police ask anyone who may have witnessed it to call the Livingston Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-677-7300.
