DANBURY – One hundred twenty-five members of the emergency services profession and their guests were on hand at the Lake House in Danbury Saturday night when officers with the Carmel Fire Department were administered their oaths of office.
Chief Scott Efferen will lead the CFD in 2024 joined by assistant chiefs Vincent Ruggerio and Robert Lipton Jr.
Highlights of the evening came when Putnam Commissioner of Emergency Services Robert Lipton pinned the ex-chief’s badge on his son Robert’s jacket. Lipton Jr. served as CFD chief in 2023.
The evening was also extra special for Chief Efferen since his father, Robert Efferen, traveled from his home in Florida to be on hand. The elder Efferen was sworn in as chief of the CFD 25 years ago to the day.
