HYDE PARK – Construction is underway to transform Route 9 in the Town of Hyde Park into a pedestrian-friendly environment.
Work in the historic town that was the home of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, will include many features, said Town Supervisor Aileen Rohr.
“We have received a grant award from the Department of Transportation to create a new sidewalk connection, green space, crosswalks and other amenities that will enhance the business district in Hyde Park,” Rohr said.
The work will also include a stormwater basin component designed to improve drainage and make Route 9 more bike-friendly.
The state will cover most of the cost.
