MONTICELLO – The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in
Monticello is the recipient of $125,000 from the state. The funding, secured
by Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (D, Forestburg), was used to purchase
most of the 10,000-square-foot library’s furniture and shelving,
as well as other office essentials.

The library “already provides so many important services to the
residents of Monticello,” Gunther said. “These improvements
make the space more welcoming and comfortable, so visitors will want to
come back over and over again.”

Four new seating areas, designated specifically for children, teens and
adults, were created as a result of the grant, as well as improvements
to the children’s room and public computer desks and chairs.
