CITY OF HUDSON – A former candle and soap factory built in the 1860s is being transformed into a 55-room boutique hotel in Hudson.
The $8.5 million project, to be called The Wick Hotel, will be a Starwood/Marriott
Tribute Portfolio hotel. The building has been stabilized and gutted and
framing has begun.

Tom Rossi, the principal at Redburn Development, said when completed in the fall, the hotel will cater to different groups of clientele.
“Mid-week, businesses and professionals and the rest of the season, to tourism, and companies and businesses down in Manhattan that want to come up and have conferences and support the wedding venues around the city,” Rossi said.
The hotel will be full service with a restaurant, rooftop patio, and meeting space.
Rossi said Columbia County has predominantly bed and breakfast facilities and he hopes to capitalize on those wanting a hotel experience.
The hotel is only about 300 feet from the Hudson train station, which Rossi said is another plus for the future business.
