MILLBROOK – State Police have arrested a Walden man on charges that as a victim’s accountant, he traded the person’s stocks and benefited financially from the sale.
Police said the suspect, Max Sandmeier, 49, had also allegedly opened credit cards using the man’s social security number.
The case came to light last October when troopers were contacted by a Millbrook resident, who reported the larceny of $40,000 in stocks.
Sandmeier was charged with the felonies of grand larceny, identity theft and falsifying business records.  He was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
