Traffic stop leads to seizure of over 65 bags of heroin and cocaine

TOWN OF LLOYD – A Palenville
man was arrested and committed to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of high
bail following a traffic stop by Lloyd Town Police.

Sean Powell, 49, was pulled over while driving on Route 9W in Highland
on Friday, February 3 and investigation resulted in the discovery of over
65 bags of heroin and cocaine.

Powell was charged with felony and misdemeanor criminal possession of
drugs as well as criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and aggravated
unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He was remanded to the Ulster County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail
or $200,000 bond pending a future court appearance.
