A 38-year-old Monticello woman has been arrested for being in possession of multiple handguns on the campus of Liberty High School last week.

NEW ROCHELLE – A 44-year-old Mamaroneck man has been arrested in New Rochelle for allegedly approaching a 13-year-old boy at his lemonade stand off North Avenue and making sexual advances toward the child.

Noe Calderon is alleged to have approached the boy at around 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, patronized the stand and then made sexual advances and attempted to exchange numbers.

Shortly after the incident, the boy and his parents reported the incident and Calderon was located and arrested, charged with endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with physical evidence.

New Rochelle Police are using that incident to remind family, friends and neighbors of young children that good diligence should be used in monitoring the popular pastime of lemonade stands, or any youth run business that may attract people that are not from the neighborhood.

Police said due to the uptick in home delivery services and remote work, as well as other regular service calls to homes, one may not realize that neighborhoods get more traffic from people who are not known to residents of the area.

Police said cautioning children and providing guidance on dealing with unfamiliar people is recommended.
