MONTICELLO – Police are
searching for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at the Monticello
Beauty Supply Store at the Mountain Mall Plaza 123 East Broadway in Monticello
shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said the suspect was described as a white woman, approximately
five-feet, four-inches to five-feet, seven-inches tall, wearing a black
hooded jacket with possible fur on the edges, black pants and white sneakers.
The robber displayed what appeared to be a silver handgun and demanded
money from the store employee. She took an unknown amount of cash and
may have fled the scene in a dark color – possibly purple – Nissan Altima,
in an eastern direction on Broadway.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Monticello
Police in confidence at 845-794-4422. Monticello Police were assisted
at the scene by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
