GREENPORT – A Ghent woman was arrested on Wednesday by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of attempted robbery in connection with an incident at Sally’s Beauty Supply at 424 Fairview Avenue in the Town of Greenport.
Deputies were called to the shop for a woman who allegedly attempted to have an employee give her money from the cash register saying she had a gun although none was displayed.
The worked did not turn over any money.
Marilyn Faye Olshena, 56, left the store. She was last seen fleeing the area in a green color vehicle. Investigators obtained the woman’s address on Route 9H in the Town of Ghent, which led to Olshena’s arrest.
It was also discovered that a similar incident involving the same woman
had occurred at the Five Below store located adjacent to Sally’s
Beauty Supply.
