MONTICELLO – A Monticello man was indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury on Wednesday on charges that he killed the caretaker at a bungalow colony in the Town of Thompson on September 21.
Rickey Bolden, 36, was indicted on three counts of murder, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, burglary, grand larceny and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies, in connection with the death of John Ferrari, 61, of Westwood, New Jersey.
The murder was committed at the Pardess Bungalows during the commission of the robbery of the victim.
District Attorney James Farrell said the indictment alleges Bolden used a sharp weapon to strike Ferrari causing his death, stole his car, burglarized a building on the property in an attempt to retrieve a DVR recorder and tampered with that device.
Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a mission person report when they found Ferrari’s body hidden on the bungalow property on September 23.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Bolden faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Bolden was arrested after an investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, State Police Bureau of Criminal investigation and Forensic Identification Unit and the District Attorney’s Office.  He is in the Sullivan County Jail pending future court action.
