Former Town of Ulster police chief eulogized

ESOPUS – Hundreds of uniformed police officers from around Ulster County paid their respects to former Town of Ulster Police Chief Anthony Cruise, who died at the age of 48 on December 8.
Cruise, who succumbed to cancer, was eulogized at his funeral service at the Chapel of the Mount Academy in Esopus on Tuesday as a loving family man and a great police officer.
The former chief, who retired a year ago, joined the Ulster Town Police Department in 1992 and rose through the ranks until he was promoted to the top job in October 2012. He retired in November 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Christa, his daughter, Ashley, son, Jesse, grandson, Emery Cruise, and siblings.
