BOICEVILLE – Authorities arrested a 14-year-old Onteora school district student and charged with making Thursday’s bomb threat at the high school.
At about 10:30 a.m., high school staff alerted the school resource officer that a note was found in a bathroom indicating a bomb was going to go off.  The high and middle schools were evacuated while an extensive search was undertaken and it was determined that the threat was not credible.
Following a joint investigation by a number of police agencies, the youth, who police did not identify, was charged with the felony of falsely reporting an incident. The student – police did not say if it was a boy or girl – was released to parents and referred to Ulster County Family Court.
Ulster Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the State Police, New York City DEP Police, town police departments from Olive, Shandaken and Woodstock and the Olive fire Department.
