POUGHKEEPSIE – The “ambush-style” shooting of two teenagers in front of Gray’s Market on South White Street in Poughkeepsie was captured on several neighborhood cameras, including a Ring doorbell camera video of which Mid Hudson News has obtained a copy.

Graphic in nature, the video has been viewed by the City of Poughkeepsie detectives assigned to the investigation. It shows teens gathering at the location following the dismissal of students at Poughkeepsie High School, located one block away. The two teenagers, both with gunshot wounds to the neck, are not students in the Poughkeepsie City School District however, both victims and the suspect reside in Poughkeepsie.

Police have identified four different people who were in the vicinity of the shooting, who were all armed with handguns, according to video evidence collected by police.  City of Poughkeepsie Police Captain Rich Wilson said detectives and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office have been evaluating the evidence collected following the shooting, and called the work a “dynamic and live” investigation.  Video of Captain Wilson’s briefing to reporters on the shooting can be found here.
