BREWSTER – Deputy Superintendent of Schools Valerie Henning-Piedmonte was elevated to superintendent of the Brewster School District on Thursday.
Meeting in special session, the board named her to succeed Timothy Conway, who is retiring at the end of the month.
Board of Education President Stephen Jambor said members were united in their support for Henning-Piedmonte, who has “carried herself with professional ism and great integrity” since she joined the district three years ago.
“Her philosophy of education embraces the growth and development of every child, values that we see at the very core of our educational mission,” Jambor said.
Henning-Piedmonte will earn $230,000 annually in her position. She will become superintendent on August 1.
