MIDDLETOWN – Skateboard parks have become popular recreational facilities. They are under varying stages of review or construction in Liberty and Newburgh as well as other communities.
The latest community to be developing one is the City of Middletown.
Mayor Joseph DeStefano said the city received formal proposals from developers.  The Board of Estimate received three proposals and a committee will review them and come up with a recommendation “fairly soon, I hope,” the mayor said.
Middletown’s park will be developed behind City Hall.
In Newburgh one is being planned at the city’s Delano-Hitch Recreation Complex.
