BEACON – David Conover, the long-time employee at Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, has been named interim executive director of the Beacon-based environmental group.
The organization has been without an executive director since former chief
David Gross resigned one month ago.
Conover, who joined Clearwater in 1991 as an on-board educator, was named education director in 2007.  He has experience working on American shad research in the Connecticut River, water treatment for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and environmental education at the Ashokan Center.
Conover is an adjunction instructor at Marist College in Poughkeepsie and also supervises Clearwater’s new microplastic research project.
