POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Hyde Park man for rape in connection with an incident in Hyde Park during the early morning hours of February 23.
Jorge Martinez, 18, was arrested the following day after an investigation. He was charged with felony rape and is accused of engaging in sex with a victim without her consent. The two parties know one another. Martinez is in the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information about Martinez concerning this or other sexual assault-type incidents is urged to call Det. Franceschi at 845-486-3820. All calls will be kept confidential.
