GOSHEN – Orange County’s centralized senior citizen lunch program kitchen at the Orange-Ulster BOCES Arden campus in Goshen prepares 900 meals per day, but can accommodate up to 2,000. That number could be realized within 10 years.
County Office for the Aging Director Ann Marie Maglione would like to use some of the extra capacity now to serve programs in neighboring counties.
“I would love to contract with some other counties as well as do some catering internally in the county,” Maglione said.
The Orange County program purchases much of its produce locally through local farms providing nutritious food at a cost savings.
