PAWLING – The man who was synonymous with emergency services in Putnam County was eulogized Saturday as the epitome of an EMS leader.
John Bodor of Patterson, died on February 9 at age 74 after losing a battle against cancer.
Bodor was a captain of the Putnam County Fire Police Response Team, lieutenant of the Patterson Fire Department’s Fire Police unit and was president of the Putnam-Northern Westchester-Dutchess Fire Police.
Police and fire personnel led a processional from the Patterson Fire Department to St. John’s Church in Pawling where the funeral mass was held. Firefighters lined up outside in the frigid temperatures to honor their fallen brother.  Bodor was laid to rest in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Patterson.
