VALLEY COTTAGE- The first signs of spring have begun to emerge in the Lower Hudson Valley; flowers have started to bloom, the sunshine has begun to warm the cold of winter, and United Hospice of Orange and Rockland Counties – the premier hospice care center in the Hudson Valley – is once again excited to host the Walk to Remember.

The United Hospice Walk to Remember will take place on Sunday, May 19 at 8:00 AM at Rockland Lake State Park and will feature lots of fun, including Touch-a-Truck and other family activities.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the United Hospice Walk to Remember which works to raise awareness of our mission to honor life, give care, and bring comfort to those facing advanced illness. It’s also a wonderful way to bring our families, friends, and the entire community together to raise funds for our mission and our work.

Cara Pace, CEO, said the event is a wonderful reminder of the connection United Hospice has to the patients and families they serve and to the community at large.

“The Walk to Remember brings so many people together, including the many families United Hospice has served since opening our doors more than 35 years ago,” Pace said. “We are especially grateful to host this walk for the people of Orange and Rockland County communities, many of whom volunteer their time and talents with our patients and the many businesses and organizations which have generously supported our work over the years.”

United Hospice is especially grateful to our many sponsors for this year’s Walk to Remember.  Their Platinum Sponsor is Atlantic-Tomorrow’s Office; Silver Sponsors include Inserra Supermarkets and Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home; Community Sponsors include Coldwell Banker Realty, IBEW Local 363, Intella Triage, Inter County Alarm System, Montefiore Nyack Hospital, Norton & Christensen Law Firm, Judith A. Pachter, State Serv, Town of Haverstraw, Vista Electrical Contractors, and  Wegmans Montvale

Friends of Hospice include Good Samaritan Hospital, the David Schwartz Family Foundation, and Body Bank Fitness

United Hospice also extends its thanks to Abbey Ice and Spring Water, Cioffi Services, Inserra Supermarkets, New City Volunteer Firefighters, New York Army National Guard, R&M Landscaping, Starbucks New City, and the Town of Clarkstown. Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation will sponsor this year’s water station. And we are always and ever grateful to Tony T. Entertainment for their time and talents.
