KINGSTON – Paving of the area around the infamous Washington Avenue sink hole in Kingston is expected to begin as soon as the spring weather hits and blacktop is available, Mayor Steven Noble said. The work will include sidewalk repairs and other related issues.
Noble said still to be resolved are homeowner legal issues concerning damage to their property.
“I think it’s really disappointing to obviously have this long-term project to be occurring for four-plus years in front of your home and to have the type of construction happen in front of people’s homes and now to have even further damage to your home possibly because of this project. The residents have really been very gracious,” the mayor said.
Noble said he has met with many of the homeowners and the insurance adjustors have been working with them in an effort to resolve the problems.
