Police raid illegal massage parlors in Town of Newburgh

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Police
have arrested eight women at six locations in Town of Newburgh for working
in massage parlors without the proper licensing.

In two of the five locations investigated, women offered sex acts to undercover
officers for money. Town of Newburgh Code Compliance also found several
safety and town code violations in four of those buildings which led them
to close them.

At Sunny Spa at 5177 Route 9W, Wei Xing-Zhi, 40, of Flushing, was charged
with felony practicing massage without a license and the business was
closed by the town’s code compliance department.

At NY Spa at 13 Meadow Hill Road, Yong Hui Mansfield, 44, of Tacoma, Washington,
was charged with felony practicing massage without a licensed. Insook
Sabean, 58, of Flushing, was charged with felony practicing massage without
a license and misdemeanor prostitution. The business was closed by the
town code compliance office.

At Hannah Spa at 274 Route 17K, Renzi Piao, 40, of Flushing, was charged
with felony practicing massage without a license and misdemeanor prostitution.
The business was closed by the town code compliance office.
At Gold Spa at 47 South Plank Road, Meihua Li, 41, of Flushing was charged
with felony practicing massage without a license and the business was
closed down.

An additional woman was arrested at the Hudson Valley Hotel and Conference
Center after investigators discovered she was advertising personal massages
on the Internet inviting customers to meet her in her hotel room. Ling
Li, 31, of Queens, was charged with a felony of practicing massage without
a license and misdemeanor prostitution.

Police said all of the women arrested appear to be Chinese or Korean immigrants
transported from New York City specifically to work in those establishments.
The investigation is continuing and police expect additional arrests.
The investigation is being conducted by the Orange County Drug Task
Force, Department of Homeland Security, the FBI-led Hudson Valley Safe
Streets Task Force and the Town of Newburgh Code Compliance Office.
