Decker: “… vitality for our city …”

PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis, once a big railroad town, is facing a rebirth, proclaimed Mayor Kelly Decker who was sworn in for a second term on New Year’s Day.
dECKER , who ran unopposed in November, told a packed room of well-wishers
the city is at a crossroads.
“What is the change we are looking for? Perhaps it is vitality for our city with a bustling economy, a destination for recreation and a quick getaway, or maybe a home where you and your children are safe; perhaps all of these.”
Planning for a whitewater park on the Delaware River, other recreational opportunities, new businesses and housing are among the positive changes ahead for Port Jervis, while the city faces challenges like the Neversink River Bridge and Tri-State corridor project, the underpass and the sewer collection system.
