Police investigate complaints of contaminated Halloween candy

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Possibly contaminated candy may have been circulated in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Halloween afternoon.
Town Police received a report from a parent that her child had received candy that may have been contaminated. It is believed the candy was received while trick-or-treating at the Galleria mall.
While police did not specify the nature of the tampering, a Facebook entry said that a pill was found inside a piece of candy.
Police advise parents to check all candy for any tampering before it is consumed. If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to call Poughkeepsie Town Police at 845-485-3666.
