OSSINING – A female corrections officer at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining is charged with rape for having sex with an inmate.
Evita Hinds, 35, of Queens, was charged with the felony following an investigation of an incident that occurred on May 30 at the all-male prison. She was arrested this Tuesday. Hinds was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
Under state law, prison inmates are incapable of consenting to sex.
