NEWBURGH – Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney Monday endorsed his party’s slate of candidates in the Newburgh City Council elections next month.  Maloney announced his backing for mayoral candidate Jonathan Jacobson and council candidates Torrance Harvey and Hillary Rayford.
“This is about what’s best for the City of Newburgh,” the congressman said.  “I’ve worked with Jonathan for years and he’s going to be a good partner to me in helping continuing all the good work we have been doing in Newburgh to create jobs and economic opportunity.”
In backing the two council candidates, Maloney said they are both educators in Newburgh “who have seen first-hand the issues that Newburgh residents face every day. Newburgh needs a city council that can tackle challenges that the city faces, and I believe Torrance and Hillary will begin that work on Day One.”
