Shade and family, including her injured but now recovered dog

GOSHEN – Victoria Shade of Goshen is an attorney and an animal
activist. The personal injury lawyer modified her field of practice after
her dog, Daisy, was run over by a lawn care guy, who cut the dog’s
leg off.
Shade pursued that case and became involved in supporting Rocky’s Law, Orange County’s new law that established a registry for convicted animal abusers.
“There are laws on the books just they are not really being enforced, read and analyzed, so I look forward to doing that and building my practice and being the animal lawyer in the area,” Shade said.
Shade felt the man who amputated her dog’s leg was not prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He could have received up to one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Instead, he was sentenced to probation.
