PORT JERVIS – Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis is being acquired by KDC,
The Knowlton Development Corporation headquartered in Quebec, Canada.
The purchase price was undisclose.
Kolmar is a custom formulator and manufacturer of color cosmetics, personal care and skincare products, offering product development, R&D innovation, and other functions for beauty and skin care brands. KDC is active in deodorants, hair care, bath and body, and skin care. Kolmar represents its first foray into the color cosmetics category.
KDC President Nicholas Whitley said the Kolmar category “has strong business fundamentals and significant growth prospects.”
Port Jervis Mayor Kelly Decker said the purchase should bode well for
the company, its employees and the city. Kolmar is the city’s largest
employee with some 500 full-time workers,
“In any type of acquisition, the company wants to be bigger, build bigger and our plant is a very operational plant,” Decker said.
