Kingston man arrested for illegal possession of weapon

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Kingston man for criminal possession of a weapon.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Broadway and Franklin Street in the City of Kingston on Friday night and found that the driver, William Gulick, 53, was driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. He was found in possession of a dagger and cocaine, which he tried to discard and conceal.
Gulick was charged with illegal possession of a weapon because of a previous conviction, tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI, operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, and several traffic infractions.  He is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
