MONTICELLO- A Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to security at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello discovered a broken window at the building’s loading dock when he reported for duty at 6:30 a.m. on Monday.  The deputy discovered a rock nearby that was apparently thrown through the glass.

A similar incident of a broken window at the old Trotter’s Tavern on Broadway in Monticello had also been reported.  An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Monticello Police Department led police to Travis D. Mervine, 33, of Liberty.

Mervine was arrested on Wednesday and charged with felony criminal mischief.  Under the state’s bail reform law, Mervine was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Monticello court on June 3rd at 9 a.m.
