Fatal crash on Taconic under investigation

STANFORD – State Police are investigating a one-car fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway by Nine Partners Road in Stanford early Thursday morning.
An investigation indicated the driver, whose name police did not yet release, was northbound in at about 3:30 a.m. when his car ran off the road and struck a tree.  The driver died at the scene.  No one else was in the car
Police are unsure if alcohol or drugs contributed to the cause of the crash.
State Police were assisted by the Stanford Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
