POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Employees Association has endorsed Republican Robert Rolison for mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie. He is currently the chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature.
The union represents approximately 340 county employees comprised of correctional and civilian staff at the sheriff’s office.
Rolison is a retired member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
“Robs extensive history in serving the people of Dutchess County as a county legislator and a 26-year veteran in law enforcement makes him the most qualified candidate capable of addressing the needs of our community,” said Timothy DeGelormo, the Sheriff’s Employees Association president.  “His experience and dedication to law enforcement makes him the only candidate that can successfully collaborate efforts with local agencies to cut down on the crime in Poughkeepsie starting on day one.”
