WHITE PLAINS – A Bronx man was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Monday on a felony charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s 2 ½-year-old child.
Carlton Brown, 31, called 911 on August 31, 2014 at 9:32 p.m. to report a child is in distress and when emergency services arrived, he told them Kali Mack had fallen off the bed.
The tot was taken to the hospital where she died on September 3. An autopsy performed the following day determined the cause of death to be abusive head trauma and the manner of death to be homicide.
If convicted of manslaughter, Brown faces a maximum of 25 years in state prison.
