SAUGERTIES – A man who fought with police after he was involved in a rollover car accident in front of 506 Old Stage Road in Saugerties early Saturday morning, was apprehended hiding in a nearby wooded area.
Saugerties Police said Frederick Manfro, 24, of 4 Deerhaven Lane in Saugerties, fought with officers, one of whom deployed a Taser to take him into custody.
He was charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and several vehicle and traffic violations and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
Manfro was not injured in the car accident, but sustained minor injuries during a domestic dispute that preceded the accident.
