Spring weather brings more traffic and revenue to Mid-Hudson bridges

HIGHLAND – All five bridges over the Hudson River, operated by the New York State Bridge Authority, saw more traffic and revenue in April than the same month last year.
The busiest bridge was the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge followed in order by the Mid-Hudson, Kingston-Rhinecliff, Bear Mountain and Rip Van Winkle.
The greatest percentage increases were on the Bear Mountain Bridge, which saw a 4.92 percent increase in traffic and a 4.75 percent increase in revenue.
Mid-Hudson Bridge saw a 3.07 percent increase in traffic and a 3.04 percent gain in revenue.
Rip Van Winkle Bridge rose by 2.72 percent while revenue was up by 4.04 percent.
Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge saw traffic increase by 2.32 percent while revenue increased by 1.81 percent.
Newburgh-Beacon Bridge rose by 1.58 percent while revenue increased by 2.26 percent.
