BUCHANAN – Entergy and its contractors are continuing to clean up the oil spill both on and off site at Indian Point following this past week’s transformer explosion and fire that resulted in oil from the device leaking into the Hudson River.
While a contract environmental mitigation company has booms in the river to contain any spill, Governor Cuomo said DEC staff members have observed sheens on both the east and west sides of the river, but no recoverable amounts have been noted at this time.
The state DEC and US Coast Guard have begun to evaluate the environmental damage, including to the river.
