WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was sentenced Tuesday to four to 12
years in state prison on his guilty plea to felony manslaughter in connection
with the death of his six-month-old daughter in March 2013.

Clarence Thomas, 33, was the primary caretaker of Natalia Johns and their
mother’s other children while she worked.

The baby died of old and new trauma to her head, according to an autopsy
and Thomas gave the police varying accounts of how the child could have
sustained those injuries.

Thomas’ common law wife, Kayan Johns, 33, of the Bronx, pled guilty
to endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor and was sentenced
to county jail.
