MONTICELLO – Sullivan County officials
have begun taking steps to simplify the procedures when applying for benefits
through the Division of Health and Family Services and plan on continuing
to make strides toward processing applications in a more timely manner.

The county Department of Family Services offers benefits to residents
in need of help, including home energy costs, housing, food, medical services,
child support, as well as preventative services for vulnerable children
and adults.

The announcement by County Manager Joshua Potosek and Acting Commissioner
Joseph Todora comes in the wake of the suspension of Commissioner Randy
Parker, who was placed on administrative leave some weeks ago.
