LUMBERLAND – Friends and neighbors
of Colin Dickerman and his partner, Peter, have raised $15,000 as a reward
for information leading to information about two fires that destroyed
their Glen Spey home that was under construction.

They were having their home in the Black Forest Colony constructed when
it was destroyed by a suspicious fire on May 14, 2014. The investigation
was inconclusive.

When they decided to rebuild, the house was destroyed for a second time
on the night of February 1, 2015, when it was burned to the ground. The
cause of that fire remains under investigation.

Dickerman told MidHudsonNews.com that while he is devastated by the double
loss, they have no plans to build their home a third time.

The men live in New York City, but have a home in Yulan, where they spend
weekends and summer vacations.
Tal McThenia, a spokesman for the neighbors, said the loss to Colin
and Peter has been “emotionally devastating” to the men. “They
have never in their many years here felt unsafe, but they now fear that
the burning of their home was a focused and personal attack on them,”
McThenia said.

Dickerman said that they did not have sufficient insurance to cover the
damage from the first fire, but secured more when they began to rebuild.
He is totally miffed as to why the house was torched, if that is determined
to be the case.
