MID-HUDSON – As much as a foot or more of snow was dumped on the region Sunday night into Monday and as the region spent the day digging out, the forecast is for the potential for more snow later this week and over the weekend.
Schools and many businesses were closed on Monday.  Snow plows and sanders were out and there were few reported accidents on area roads.
At Stewart Airport at Newburgh, some 10 inches of snow were recorded. Some flights were cancelled while others continued their routes.
Kids enjoyed the weather with another day off from school. While some of snowboarding and building snowmen, others are going around neighborhoods, trying to make a few dollars by shoveling out people.
