Wellington:  “I must commend
my staff”

MONTICELLO – The State Department of Health pulled a surprise inspection recently at Sullivan County’s Adult Care Center and the county Nursing Home.  There were no issues at the Adult Care Center, and only three minor ones, not impacting quality of care, at the nursing home.
The inspection team was on site for five days.
Health and Family Services Commissioner Randy Parker took time at Thursday’s County Legislature committee meeting to praise both the results, and recently hired facility Director Shennoy Wellington for maintaining operations despite the intrusion.
“I think the survey speaks to the work that’s been done, the investment that’s been done into building the programs and creating the separate units, but that is a tremendous accomplishment,” Parker said.
Wellington gave the credit to her staff.
“I must commend my staff.  They did a wonderful job in getting everything done, everything while they were on site. Everything really ran smoothly.”
Wellington also thanked the County Manager’s office for getting WiFi up and running in the Adult Care Center, something some several residents had been asking for.
