NEWBURGH – It was just three hours
into the 2015 and Newburgh City Police made their first gun arrest.
Police were called to the area of Crown Fried Chicken at 219 Broadway
for a report of a man with a gun.
When officers arrived, they saw a man matching the suspect’s description
given by a caller inside the restaurant and as officers approached, the
man attempted to leave on foot.
Officers detained the man, later identified as Steven Hall, 23, of Wallkill
and recovered a loaded 22 caliber handgun from his coat pocket.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and held pending arraignment.
