KIAMESHA LAKE – The year-old luxury wellness center and spa YO1 in Kiamesha Lake may be in the process of being sold. “The Economic Times” of Mumbai, India, reports that two sources said the parent company, The Essel Group, has “initiated the process to sell YO1 Centre, its US-based wellness destination and among the pet projects of chairman Chandra.”
The Economic Times quoted one source as saying a sale could generate $250 million to $300 million. A spokesperson for Essel Group told the publication they are “constantly exploring and evaluating strategic partnership opportunities to enhance the offerings of the wellness centre.”
Sullivan County Visitors Association President Roberta Byron Lockwood said the company is “looking at different re-directs. Obviously, I want success for them.”
YO1 opened in June 2018.
The facility, on a 1,310 acre property in the Town of Thompson, offers a 131-room resort with 50 therapy rooms and six customized “pathways to wellness.” The daily rate is $599.
