NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Board of Education will conduct another special meeting tonight and once again go into executive session to discuss, what sources said was the future of suspended Superintendent Roberto Padilla.

There have been behind-closed-door discussions about firing him and others about bringing him back.

A second investigative report has been completed, which sources said may be more damning than the first one concerning alleged inappropriate behavior toward female subordinates.

Tonight’s closed-door session is expected to center on State Education Law 3020, which allows for tenured educator dismissals for “just cause.”

Typical of the recent meetings that have taken place in executive session, members return to public session, and vote on some item without explanation to the public.
