I am writing this letter to the editor asking Congress Member Pat Ryan, Senator Schumer, and Senator Gillibrand in joining Rep. Mike Collins in calling for the resignation of Postmaster General DeJoy.
Postmaster DeJoy lacks experience in the postal service, coming from a freight company background. Since relocating all mail carriers from local post offices to the Stewart NY S&DC, mail delivery has been significantly delayed. Residents in Walden and surrounding towns have reported not receiving their mail for weeks or even months. During a recent Senate hearing, a Senator from Georgia voiced similar concerns, noting that delayed mail is preventing people from receiving essential medications.
