WHITE PLAINS – A Virginia man was sentenced in Westchester County Court to 20 years to life in state prison for the 2021 fatal shooting of a 62-year-old New Rochelle cab driver.

Percell Ross Blakely, 54, who has prior felony convictions, pled guilty in February to murder in the death of Andrews Valenzuela, who had just ended his shift.

It was at about 2:45 a.m. on October 14, 2021 that Blakely used a .22 caliber gun to shot the victim twice while attempting to rob him on Main Street in New Rochelle.

Blakely was arrested on October 17, 2021 at a residential building in Brooklyn following a multi-agency investigation led by New Rochelle investigators.
